Tip Top Crosshatching Brushes for Procreate

Scatter – Pretty self-explanatory, these are more “chaotic” hatchers, excellent for conveying a sense of texture. These are good for smoke, shadow, etc.

Scribble – Various scribbles made with different mediums. Also good stuff!

Sparse – A more “patterned” style with minimal overlap for superior control. You can lay them down in patterns, or scribble them all together in more of the scattered style.

Fun – Some bonus brushes made during development, great for cartoons!

Tip Top Crosshatching Brushes for Procreate

Today I’m releasing Crosshatching for Procreate!
Crosshatching is a brand new collection of 36 crosshatching brushes for Procreate on iPad. Maximum effort has gone into each brush, to ensure they feel natural, smooth, and behave just like you expect them to, with no aliasing or other unwanted artifacts.
All of the marks were made with a variety of ink tools such as traditional dip pens, fine brushes, technical pens, on surfaces like 100% cotton paper, smooth bristol, sketchbook paper, and even clear acetate.

Crosshatching includes 6 categories of hatching:
Multi-hatch – These are the core hatching brushes. The direction of the hatch lines are based on the direction your stroke is going. If you just want vertical lines, stroke left or right. horizontal lines, up or down. They work in any direction so you can create an endless combination of patterns! Super fun to use.

Scatter – Pretty self-explanatory, these are more “chaotic” hatchers, excellent for conveying a sense of texture. These are good for smoke, shadow, etc.

Uni-Direction – These are some of my favorites. The lines always go one direction, which you can adjust by two-finger “twist” of the image source in brush settings, or rotating the procreate canvas. Excellent for rain, foliage, feathering in shadows, indicating texture/reflections, and much more. I find its easiest to brush them in from top-left to bottom-right corners for most even coverage.
